U.S.: Russian sex tape was blackmail attempt
Footage on a Russian Web site allegedly showing a U.S. diplomat having sex with a prostitute was doctored in an effort to blackmail the man, the U.S. State Department says. A spokesman said Brendan Kyle Hatcher could have been targeted because of his work in Russia reporting on religious freedom.
